About Us

Warlick Academy is a public alternative school that serves students in grades six through 12. Warlick provides a supportive setting for students who need a different approach to learning. The school helps students who may face challenges in a traditional classroom or who need extra support with behavior or emotional growth.

Our Mission and Vision
Our goal is to build a safe, caring school that meets each student’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. We work to help students adapt, learn, and succeed as positive members of society.

What We Offer

  • Core academic instruction for grades six to 12, offering course credit and grade promotion in subjects like math, English, science and social studies
  • A caring setting where students learn social and behavioral skills to help them succeed in life
  • A staff of about 20 teachers, plus support by counselors, instructional assistants, a social worker, and a day-treatment program on campus.

Our Students
Warlick Academy serves around 175 students, with most qualifying for free lunch. The student body is diverse and represents the entire county.

Support and Community Partnerships
We partner with organizations like Communities In Schools to offer mentoring, tutoring and mental health support. These connections help students stay in school and prepare for a successful future.

Accreditation
Gaston County Schools, including Warlick Academy, are accredited through AdvancED (now Cognia). This recognizes our commitment to educational quality and continuous improvement

Warlick Academy provides a structured, supportive setting designed for students to grow academically, socially and emotionally. We focus on helping every student reach their full potential and become responsible, successful citizens.
